This weekend saw the end to another successful season, with no lives lost between the flags. We saw the last of our trainees go through assessment gaining IRBC and IRBD awards. Thank you to all those who helped keep the beach safe over the 2017/18 season. A massive thanks to all our trainers whose countless hours of training put more than 40 new lifesavers on the beach as well as up-skilling current lifesavers.
The lifesaving season may be over but next weekend we see our IRB competitors start their racing season. We wish you the best of luck! We look forward to seeing all our lifesavers back for the 2018/19 season. Remember to mark you calendars for Presentation Night on 28 July!

I am happy to see that the season ended with a bang and everyone was happy with the result. This is just a proof that we can all be happy with the result because we know the everyone fought at their best, and only the best team could win. Congratulations to the winning team. I am pretty sure it was not an easy journey for some, but they are just about to reap what they saw. I am hoping that the next season would new much exciting and more friendship will be formed!

I don't think I will ever learn how to surf. I don't even know how to swim. I guess I just had to be contented just watching other people do it. I have always been afraid of getting bitten also by sea creatures. I like looking at them at pictures and videos but the first time I saw and almost stepped on a sea urchin it made me too scared to get back in the waters. I am contented just breathing the fresh air sitting inside our car. I know one day I can get rid of all these little petrifying things and be fearless like a little child again. I love the sea that much.
