JOINING SOUTH MAROUBRA SURF CLUB

South Maroubra Surf Club is located at on beautiful Maroubra Beach, one of Sydney's best beaches. First and foremost we are a lifesaving club and are always looking for members who'd like to join our ranks of skilled and dedicated lifesaver. We also are home to a flourishing Nipper program, where our lifesavers of tomorrow are being trained.

How to join our nipper program

To patrol with South Maroubra Surf Club at Sydney's most beautiful beach you'll need your Bronze Medallion. For younger people who'd like to patrol and start learning what being a lifesaver is all about you can do the Surf Rescue Certificate.

Surf Rescue Certificate
Aimed at 13 - 15 year old's, this award is the beginning of your journey as a lifesaver.

Our next SRC course will run as a 4 week course in January 2026. We will run a course for our current Nippers starting November 2025.

The next Information Night will be held on 27 January 2026 at 6.30pm at the Surf Club

​Bronze Medallion
You'll need to be 15 years of age to do the Bronze Medallion. Once you've completed the course you will be able to be a fully fledged lifesaver with us!

Our next BM course will run as a 6-week course starting February 2026.

​Our Nipper Program is aimed at kids aged 5 to 14 years old, and is a great way to learn surf safety and skills. We cater for all abilities.

Being a nipper is usually a stepping stone to becoming our lifesavers of the future.

Kids will take part in both sand and ocean activities gradually building their skills and confidence as they grow.

MEMBERSHIP FEES (2026/27 Season)

Members are required to renew and pay member fees annually (Season runs from 1 May - 30 April).

We are pleased to advise that with the cost of living pressures around, the Board of Management have decided to keep the fees static for the 26/27 season with the exception of Gold Membership.
