Nicole Cooney Director of Lifesaving SOLAR PANEL INSTALLATION
In partnership with RESINC Solar, Clovelly Community Bank and a Community Building Partnership Grant via Michael Daley MP, it is with great excitement that we advise club members of the imminent installation of solar panels on the clubhouse. During the months of December and January RESINC representatives will be down at the club preparing (Dec) and installing (Jan) 108 solar panels on our clubhouse roof. This Solar installation will save the club considerable dollars off our current $2000 per month electricity spend. RESINC is sponsoring our club and covering half of the cost of the solar project and together with a contribution from the Clovelly Community Bank and government Grant the club is able to afford this investment. (Project cost $60,814). Please join the Board in welcoming RESINC and the Clovelly Community Bank to our group of valued club sponsors. We will advise members when the Official welcoming celebration with these new sponsors will take place at the clubhouse in January 2021. TOP CAT CATERING We wish Jenny the owner of Top Cat Catering and Manager of Horizons a speedy recovery after a recent accident. Best wishes to you Jenny. Merry Christmas and enjoy a safe festive season. Good Bye 2020. Kind regards, Yvette Rutherford Director of Finance I’d like to start by wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Regrettably 2020 will be remembered for all the wrong reasons, in particular Covid, the pandemic that has terribly impacted our normal way of life, including our surf club activities, which I’m sure you’ve all experienced in some way. What is the current club Covid status? At the time of writing our club is still operating under our Safety Plan which relates to all aspects of club operations. The more common rules include the need to always use QR registration when entering the club or any of our storerooms. Manual sign in is available in the absence of Smartphones. Hygiene requirements still apply when entering clubs or storerooms, cleaning of gym equipment before and after use, cleaning of shared equipment such as boards plus our lifesaving equipment and training gear all need to managed in line with respective sectional Covid Plans. We reported via Surfguard that changeroom showers are not available for use yet. Please continue to use public outdoor showers located opposite Mick’s kiosk. Current government updates cane be found here: https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates Club Room Hire/Functions/Social Sunday status? We are pleased to advise that the Heritage Room and its BK Lounge are available for hiring purposes, whilst club’s Sunday socials will continue, room hire and socials can now operate under the 2 sqm rule. This brings capacity in both rooms back to 100+ guests, great news for our club. Restrictions still apply in terms of being seated when indoors and consuming alcohol but does not apply when walking indoors without alcohol or standing at tables. Dancing of 50 people is now permitted so we’re almost nearly back to normal . Please consider and promote club hire of the Heritage Room for your and your friends’ private events.
